sweet

Sweet is petite, and sickeningly sappy
Yet most girls would be insanely happy
To be described with that little word
But for me it is absurd.

I am too large, too rough,
Too tall of frame
To be called by such a name.

No lollipops sit in my hands.
No ponytails in rubber bands.

No frills of lace, no sash,
No powder puff
Can compliment one so rough.

So help me then, to figure out
What my heart is all about
When it with simple pleasure beats
To the words, “You’re so sweet.”
When uttered by your lovely lips
Like silk upon my fingertips.
